Case Study: Revolutionizing the Toy Biz Experience

Client: Toy Association of India (TAI)

Objective: To design and develop a comprehensive, dual-purpose mobile application for Toy Biz 2024, the annual exhibition, that would enhance the experience for both visitors and exhibitors. The goal was to modernize the exhibition’s operations, improve networking opportunities, and provide seamless access to critical information in a single platform.

The Challenge:

The Toy Association of India, an apex body representing over 5,000 members, needed a technological solution to elevate their 15-year-old exhibition, Toy Biz. The challenge was to create an all-in-one app that could serve the diverse needs of manufacturers, exporters, importers, and visitors. This required a robust and intuitive platform that could simplify processes like event registration and navigation, while simultaneously creating a dynamic new channel for business networking—all within a tight deadline.

Our Approach:

Purple Fable was entrusted with the end-to-end conceptualization, strategy, UI/UX design, and development of the all-new Toy Biz app. Our approach was rooted in a deep understanding of the exhibition’s ecosystem. We began with strategic planning to define user journeys for both visitors and exhibitors.

We then designed and developed a dual-dashboard application in record time, with a focus on intuitive navigation and a clean, user-centric interface.

Key Features & Solutions:

  • For Visitors: We streamlined the visitor experience with features like:
    • Effortless registration and a unique QR code for entry.
    • A dynamic exhibition map and an interactive exhibitor list.
    • Access to social media feeds, important event information, and location details (location pin, how to reach).
  • For Exhibitors: We provided a powerful tool for business development and networking:
    • A dedicated exhibitor dashboard to create and manage public profiles.
    • The ability to upload business information, profiles, and catalogs.
    • A unique networking feature allowing visitors to scan an exhibitor’s stall code to instantly view their profile on the app.
    • A “favorites” feature for visitors to save exhibitors based on their interests and intent.

The Impact:

The Toy Biz app transformed the exhibition from a traditional event into a modern, tech-enabled experience. It not only simplified logistics for all attendees but also introduced a novel business matchmaking feature that created tangible value. By creating a seamless, interconnected platform, we empowered both visitors and exhibitors to maximize their time and opportunities, solidifying Toy Biz 2024 as a forward-thinking and highly efficient industry event.
